Enable / Modify Geforce GTX 780

my son wants to modde his nice little older GTX780 more shaders to tickle out of the map a little more power out. On the map a GK110 is installed. He would like to flash at EVGA Bios on it. Does anyone have any experience with such flashs? He is a bit skeptical. According to the network, there should clearly be some performance from the card. Since he does not have enough change at the moment to buy.

Risk is to high... "older GTX 780" which modell?
Only EVGA GTX 780 SC to SCC Flash is okay.
But a Gigabyte GTX 780 to EVGA SCC is not vaible
The custom PCB comes all with difference Powertarget and consumption, the most will not vaible for the little BIOS Push.
One point is, the GTX 780 is to old for "more power" sell it and get a 980 or 970. a little OC will get you there much further
